WASTEWATER NETWORK PROJECT

The $58 million Wastewater Network Project aims to replace or rehabilitate undersized trunk lines and expand lateral sewers in the neighborhoods of Zarqa, Russeifa and Hashemiyah. The extension of lateral sewer lines is expected to raise wastewater service coverage rates from 72 percent to about 82 percent of the local population. These new customer connections should also generate additional supplies of wastewater. The project commenced towards end of November 2012 and is expected to be complete within three years.
